Larry Edward Pardue

Larry Edward Pardue, 72, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Chattanooga, to the late Ben W. and Emma Lee Kolwyck Pardue on November 12, 1950. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area where he was a 1967 graduate of City High School. Following his high school graduation, Larry, served in the United States Army. Concluding his honorable discharge from the Army, Larry began his career with the United States Postal Service. He served as Postmaster in Whitwell, Tn., and later became the Postmaster in Ringgold, retiring after 37 years of service.

Larry enjoyed playing sports when he was younger, and he was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. He also enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, and spending time at his lake property. He had an immaculate landscaped yard at his home and at the lake. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and adopted his lake property friends as family and took great pride in his attempts to convert them to be “Dawg fans”. He cherished his time sitting on the front porches with the company of many friends throughout the years. Larry enjoyed his monthly dinners with friends he grew up with and thought of them as his extended family and he dearly loved his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Walter Pardue and William Pardue; and sister, Judith Gale Pardue.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Brenda Pardue; daughters, Kristy (Jason Stoner) Burchfield, Kara (Shaun) Hood, and Carrie (Eric) Allen; three grandchildren, Nolan, Izzy, and Max; sister, Delores Sampson; and many nieces and nephews.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Mickey McCamish will be officiating the services.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville

Larry was a great family man, husband and friend. He lived three blocks from me growing up and we played sandlot ball every day and were on the same organized football, basketball, and baseball teams. We bonded in our later years by visiting our ailing childhood friends and RVing in the Georgia mountains. He will be missed by all who knew him.
