Robert Lee Chiles

Robert Lee Chiles, 74, of Leander, Texas

Lee was born in Richmond, Virginia on January 18, 1948, the son of the late Forrest Winfield Chiles and Elizabeth Oliver Chiles. He grew up in the Stuart Heights area of Chattanooga and graduated from Chattanooga High School class of ’66. He went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee and enjoyed UT sports and cheering on the VOLS.

Lee worked for Quaker Oats Company in Chattanooga for many years and was transferred to their office in Chicago, Illinois where he retired after more than 30 years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Linda Brown Chiles; one daughter, Susan Chiles of Georgia and one son, Jeff (Leah) Chiles of Austin, Texas; three granddaughters, Lauren Chiles, Lindsey Chiles, and Lillian Chiles; one sister, Nancy Chiles Beckham; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24th from 9-11 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be at 11:00 Friday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
