Jack Meadows - Class Of 1964

Bill Meadows class of 1964 and I are honored to have had Jack as our brother. He was an excellent student at City as well as his other Alma Mater, The University of Chattanooga. He was an avid reader, antique collector and restorer, sports car enthusiast and restorer and loved and appreciated all the arts. He spent his entire adult life living in his beloved historic Virginia Highlands of Atlanta until recently moving to West Virginia and then Virginia to be near his daughters. He spent his entire working career with the General Services Administration. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Phil Meadows class of 1971

I MET JACK MEADOWS AT A METHODIST CAMPGROUND ON LOOKOUT MTN.IN THE SUMMER OF 1963

WE BECAME CLOSE FRIENDS, BOYFRIEND GIRLFRIEND, THEN FRIENDS AGAIN LATER IN COLLEGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHATTANOOGA.

JACK WAS STUDYING TO BE A LAY MINISTER IN THE METHODIST CHURCH WITH THE GOAL OF BECOMING A MINISTER. HE SERVED AS YOUTH DIRECTOR AT THE WHITE OAK UNITED METHODIST                CHURCH WHILE IN COLLEGE.

AS HIS BROTHER SAID, HE LOVED OLD CARS AND DROVE A BLUE CARMEN GHIA ( NOT SURE OF THE SPELLING) WE HAD GREAT FUN IN HIS CAR.

JACK, HIS FUTURE WIFE PEGGY, AND I WORKED AT THE BETHLEHEM CENTER IN THE GHETTO OF CHATTANOOGA WITH THE CHILDREN IN AN AFTERNOON PROGRAM AND IN THE SUMMER WHILE STILL IN COLLEGE.

'I WAS SORRY TO READ OF JACK'S DEATH IN THE MEMORIUM FROM JACK'S YOUNGER BROTHER. I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT JACK WAS A GOOD PERSON WHO RARELY HAD A BAD DAY. HE LIVED LIFE TO THE FULLEST.
