Saw his picture on the Memorium board at the reunion a few weeks ago..
Alan was part of a small group of drummers who started our drum lessons at Northside Jr. High that including Danny Jones and myself. We took a lot of lessons together. We played in the band together at Northside and at City. I lost track of him after hight school. I can't recall seeing him at a reunion. Does anyone know his story?
Alan got an MBA from UT Knoxville and then spent his career in the financial industry, first in NYC for many years, then in Charlotte, NC, where he retired. In his later life he enrolled in a seminary and pursued a Divinity degree, while also serving as a prison chaplain. He had lymphoma some years ago that went into remission but returned to take him from us in September.
