Update: My first granddaughter was born on September 2, 2009 - on my husband's birthday. Her name is Alaina Bryce Kelsie Jones. She is the prettiest and tiniest little baby I've ever seen. |

I've lived a pretty boring life - but it worked well for me. After graduation, I attended MTSU where I met and married my husband, Bill Phillips, in 1970. We graduated together in 1971. I began teaching in Memphis while he went to Dental School. We had our first child in 1973, a year before he graduated. We moved back to Chattanooga. He set up a dental practice and I taught school at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary. I had my second child in 1977.
In the late 80's, I went back to school and got my Masters Degree. Now I'm an administrator in the schools system working with Federal Programs. My hubby is still working in the same building where he first set up practice. We live in the same home that we purchased in 1977. We're too cheap to buy another one. We'll just fix up what we have.
We're at a comfortable place in our lives. We entertain ourselves by watching TV, eating dinner together, and taking an occasional vacation. I've put on lots of pounds (the number - I won't disclose) and he has never mentioned my weight gain. We've had our share of storms - money, health, marriage, etc - and we've weathered them all.
We enjoy time with our grandchildren that we probably see once or twice a month. We have a little granddaughter on the way. Holidays are great.
Now, we're looking forward to retirement. Life is good. Most days are just ordinary, and I like ordinary. |

My favorite memories of City are the shows that were put on - the plays, Stunt Night, Talent Shows - all of that. I thought the student body was extremely talented. |
