We hung out a little. We talked about "stuff". But Steve was a very private soul, and let few in. Unfortunately, I was one who was kept at bay.
I know, that on an individual scale... Steve was tops! I believe on a family level.... Steve was suppressed.
I remember him telling me of his family escapeing from Nazi Germany, with only a few members making it out alive. He was living with his grandparents, and maybe thats where the mistrust came from. I don't know. But I would have liked to think, that once here, they could have let their grandson be part of us...... America.
Sad..... I don't remember it working out that way.
