Edward "Ed" Ray Stradley, 67, passed away November 3, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas. Ed was born May 29, 1951 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Norman Henry and Margaret Coy Stradley. Ed became an Eagle Scout in 1967, graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1969 then attended Texas Christian University where he earned a BA in English in 1973. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Ed Stradley was a long-time fixture in the Fort Worth music scene whose musical legacy in Fort Worth spans nearly 50 years. He was a drummer, a composer, a recording engineer and a music producer. As a drummer he was best known as the drummer for the 1970s funk band Abracadabra and the 90's blues band Ed Lively and the Movers. As a songwriter, engineer and producer, Ed was known as the proprietor of The Band Factory recording studio where many of Fort Worth's best and most famous musicians spent time writing and recording demo tracks and records. He ran the audio visuals for Texas Motor Speedway prior to becoming an audio engineer for J&S Audio Visual Communications. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ed is survived by his sister, Dr. Pamela Jeanne Stradley White and husband Danny of Memphis, TN; two nephews, Dustin Travis White and wife Brandis of Chattanooga, TN and Kyle Lane White and wife Amy of St. Louis, MO; one great niece, Nora Liberty White of Chattanooga, TN, two great nephews, Jackson Lane and Clayton Andrew White of St. Louis, MO. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the medical professionals from Texas Oncology and Vitas Hospice. If desired, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
