Rad and I were as close as brothers . I will miss him . When I found out he had cancer I went down to St.Peterburg, Fl. and spent the last few weeks with him before he passed away . As many of you who knew Rad knew that he was always late .Well guess what. I told him he would be late for his on funeral and he was. Robert(Corkey) Moon and I had a Memorial for him here on Sat.in Dec. and his ashes showed up on the next Wed. That's just like Rad getting in the last word . I miss you man .
Rad was like another big brother to as if I needed another one. He was always at our house because my brother Byron and him were best friends. They went through thick and thin for each other. When I was 9 my parents built a new house and Byron and Rad got into a water gun fight in the downstairs den and mother came home and when she heard them and went to the den to see what they were doing. I just knew they were going to get a whoppin, which I loved. I sat at the top of the stairs ready for them to get it. Mother started yelling at them and then told Rad he had to go. I then started to cry because I thought Rad was one of my real brothers and I was so worried were he would have to go live. That was the day I found out he wasn't a Mitts. I will miss him pointing and wagging his finger at me and say now Prissy and then I knew I was in for a long talking to. I will miss him everyday for the rest of my life. He was one of a kind. Rad was my first "serious" boyfriend when I was in high school. We went to the Jr/Sr prom together and since he was in college and a member of a fraternity, I was "pinned" ( does anyone do that anymore?) to him. We went our separate ways and through my Mother's match making efforts were reunited and married from 1994-2000. Few people have the opportunity for a second chance with their first love. I was one of them. God Bless you Rad.
